Our History

Lamorbey Residents’ Association was founded in 1933 to provide a supportive, community network with neither religious nor political affiliation, in the rapidly expanding area of the vicinity of Lamorbey Park.

Over the decades other smaller Residents’ Associations in the neighbouring streets were formed and subsequently folded notably in Blackfen, Longmeadow( Lamorbey West) and Blendon and Penhill. On dissolution they were merged into LRA, as it is today, making it the largest Residents’ Association in Bexley uniquely owning its own Hall ( Pavilion) and grounds which have been lovingly and painstakingly reclaimed from nature into parkland over the last 20 years. It is here that LRA promotes educational, social, and recreational leisure-time activities as mandated both by its Constitution and its Charity Status.
